Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! On Monday we had a ward Halloween party and since I have to work on Halloween night I thought I would dress up. (Not that I would have dressed up any way if I weren't working!)
This costume is made only of the finest material and in such a manner as to make my parents proud!

That's right, I was a kissing booth. Well apparently my prices were a little too high, as I wasn't as successful as one in a kissing booth might hope. As you can see however, I made a little extra gas money to get me home. Just Kidding.

This picture scares even myself!

He thought we was being super creative to hand me the dollar with his mouth, but then someone told him all the germs associated with money and I am pretty sure he went in the bathroom and threw up!

Anyone who shows up as Michael Phelps, in spandex non the less, definitely deserves to win a prise!
If this isn't the cutest spider you have ever seen!

Birthday Party

Last Sunday I was invited to a birthday party (shocking I know)! Anyways, there was a cotton candy machine. That makes a pretty sweet party if I do say so myself. (Not as cool as a wrestling party at the Linden house, but a close second!)
I just love how all the cotton candy gets caught in her hair and eyelashes. It's a messy job! Just bagging it up!

Not only am I still wearing scrubs...but I have a pumpkin with my name in it! I carved it a few months ago and as it grew, the scarring grew with it. Pretty awesome!

Congratulations!!!

The long awaited time has finally come. A lot of sweat, tears, a few ulcers and sleepless nights have not gone in vain. Saturday morning a life changing event occurred and I am here to share it with the world.I got accepted into nursing school at ISU. I really am going to be a nurse some day and from a real school with real accreditations and insurance!

So what is the first thing you do when you find out you've been accepted to nursing school? Throw on a pair of scrubs...OF COURSE! I will soon wear pajamas every day for the rest of my life. I can't wait!

I know some of you might be thinking "hey, I thought you were in nursing this whole time". Come to find out there are A LOT of prerequisites that I had to complete before I could even apply, and now just 2 1/2 more years and I will do something with my life. But really, this is a huge deal. I gave up working for more than $8/hr, 4 years of a previous college education, and being with family and friends. Every years many many people are turned down to this elite program in Pocatello. I am very blessed to have the opportunity to go to such a great school. I also have been rejected from many other schools, so I know this must be the place for me or so many others things would not have happened for me to be here. So for now....it's study study study and practice a few shots, IV's, probably even throw in a catheter or two and before you know it you will be calling me every time you get a bump on your leg and you think it is a deadly spider bite, or cut your finger on a cheap hot tub!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY ROO!

Some people think they have the best dad in the world. I think there are a lot of great dads, but mine pretty much beats them all! I want to share one of the amazing things my dad has done. When I was in college (the first time) I had come home for the weekend and left late Sunday night to head back to Rexburg. As I was about to depart we realized I had a headlight out. Me being the brat that I am threw a temper tantrum (because it just couldn't be fixed or something lame!) The next morning I look out in the parking lot to see my father changing my light. He drove 4 1/2 hours (ONE WAY) to fix something that takes less than five minutes. He told me "it was his job as a father to make sure we are safe" and "I needed an excuse to listen to my book on tape". Seriously...My dad is THE BEST. I try not be such a big brat to him (I haven't mastered the grown up phase of life yet) but I always see the amazing things he is willing to do for his family! Thanks dad, I love you!!! Happy Birthday!

Fall

I love fall time. I think the trees changing color is possibly the most beautiful thing in the whole world. However, like the ying-yang teaches, there is a little bad in every good. With all the leaves dying, it attracts a lot of gnats. By a lot of gnats, I mean A LOT! Every time I am walking on campus I become the human rotten banana and a million things are flying at me in all directions. By the time I get to class there are at least three stuck in my lip gloss and a few in my eyelashes as well. Not my favorite, but it is something I will deal with if it means I get to see the beautiful leaves!

Happy Anniversary

I know I missed the actually anniversary, but my beautiful friend Christa has been married a year! Congratulations. I sure do miss you!

Wedding Time Fun

One of my favorite families on this earth is the Hymas'. I had the opportunity to delight in the joy of theirs sons wedding. I will now provide a few pictures of what I consider to be the ideal wedding!
Weddings are when you look your best. Pick groomsmen that make you look good, or just find the biggest person possible, that works too!

Being the flower girl is a very stressful job. You have to get the peddles in just the right spot and everyone is staring at you.

I love the look of delight on their faces as the officiator demonstrates an object lesson with m&m's found in an older easter closet.

Who knew someone so little could puke something this big!

I just love this picture because this is not a pose, this is how life is, squeezing a cricket while everyone watches.

I work at a home for crisis youth who have been removed from their families. My responsibility to is to watch over the kids, make sure they don’t break parole, get homework done and chores accomplished. I help them in learning to cook the gourmet meals of quesadillas and toast. I also get to make sure they walk to and from school without taking a few smoke breaks along the way. Last week I successfully lost the only person I was suppose to watch get home from school and in turn got to walk home with a bag lady. She had an accumulation of two or three hats on, a festive plaid coat, slippers and a little suitcase on wheels. She wore ginormous glasses so she could focus on things in any plane of sight. Her head was kept down and she would run through all these deep leaves just dragging the little suit case. It surprised me that for being so old she could walk so fast and that of all the groomed sidewalks she chose to run through grass, leaves and unmoved dog pooh. And I must admit I was a little curious about what was in the bag and how it became so important that she would rather live under a bridge and shower at a Pilot station than work. But it did motivate me to get a little more exercise as I had to run faster than her so I wouldn’t get mugged.

Little Observations

Today I was coming home from school and passed by the local mortuary. There was a funeral in procession and the streets were lined with motorcycles, men in leather fringes smoking cigars, and bail bond cars. I can’t say for sure what this person died from. Smoking, not wearing a helmet, to much leather or a run away convict. However I do know that when I die I hope that if I am a friend of the bail bond company it is because we go to lunch together and not because they bail me out of the big house every time I do something stupid. And for heavens sake is it necessary to drive the company car to the funeral?
