Tidings of Great Abundance

What did I get for Christmas this year? My brother gave me a tandem bike. It is in the process of being finished. I think this is the very gift that keeps on giving. I am going to ride the bike all over campus, and when I see a boy, I'll pull up next to him and say "Where you headed to? There's room for one more." I think it is going to increase my dating life by 28%.
My parents also gave me a rag blanket for picnics. (Appropriate with my tandem bike dating potential.) I got a new lense for my camera (yahoo!), a GPS for my car (because I NEVER know where I am or where I am going), my Hymas family gave me a stethoscope (so I really can be the best nurse ever), and my parents hooked me up with a can of chicken, dried mangoes, cans of nuts, and a start to my own Christmas decoration and book collection. I am really blessed with so many things. I am thankful to everyone who has been so generous to me.

All That Christmas Jazz

With all the holiday celebrations, I haven't had time to catch you up with all my amazing festivities.

First my father took some pictures of grass with frost on the blades. Beautiful!

There were gingerbread houses:

The supplies that make a ginger(or honey graham) houses.

This is the winning house. It was an orphanage for little children who didn't have Christmas Dresses or Shoes due to a tragic fire. (How can an orphanage NOT win!)This house was in an earth quake (still tragic, but not like orphans, so it didn't win)This is to classic, like a real house. Nothing outstanding except someone has been paying the morgage (which nowdays is a rarety!)The winning team!Eating the bill paying house! There was also a White Elephant party. My favorite!
This young man won a cowboy had and a cheetah set to cover a scooter. You can't go wrong with that combo! You will be proud to know that I am the one who donated this ugly Christmas sweater. I think the best part is how well it fits him!Hoola Hoops for small children are always a smashing hit!And nothing says super model like a crazy wig! I really hope someone with lice didn't wear this before donating it!
And Christmas parties!

Delicious food, Cafe Rio style
Before strangers started holding her.
Once she realizes some one scary (like my mom) is holding her
The look of sheer terror!A sack of upside down potatoes.
The Cluny girls always know what is going on!
Who doesn't love double image mirror time?!
Christmas just makes you want to dance!
It brings out the musical abilities in us all.
Loving time with Aunt Rachel

Babies always have to eat green unidentified food.
But bath time makes it all better.

A Christmas Miracle

I think you will all be happy to know I survived a near death experience when my house almost exploded into a fireball of gas. My landlord, the handy man he is, decided to get a new hot water heater. After about 5 months he thought, hey we don't like in 1902 where we shower outside with there is fresh rain. And since we have indoor plumbing, maybe it would be cool if there was a choice between hot and cold water. While I was at church he replaced the hot water heater all by himself. When I got home I opened the door just to get knocked in the face with the smell of gas. I was talking to my on the phone and told her, so she in the calm motherly charm said "get out now, it is probably going to blow and you'll die, hang up, don't turn lights on" So I did what anyone would do, instead of grabbing my own phone book I drove to Fred Meyers to use their phone book and call in the gas emergency. The gas man came and sure enough a gaseous leak. There is a law in Idaho that says you shouldn't replace a heater without notifying the Gas Company. (Because people like my landlord will kill their tenants). Come to find out it was a faulty heater, so for our safety all water was shut off to our house. PERFECT, I didn't want to go to the bathroom indoors either!

International Night; bring on the Christmas spirit

The second stake put on international night so we could learn about different cultures around the world. I took some pictures before hand because I had the worlds worst date to experience during the program.
A classic nativity with only happy children.
Baby Jesus, but not the real baby Jesus

Mary, with a different baby Jesus.
Wise men were always just chillin'

A little sheep, just making sure his tail is still there. I would do the same thing too.

Do not tell me this little cow isn't the cutest thing you have ever seen!
Afghanistan rocking the gold shoes. Not quite sure what country this one is, but the bride gets to wear a very awesome hat with tassels in her face.
A Polynesian country.

Do you think if you were in a tropical country you would always just be eating pineapples and mango's? Becuase in the Virgin Islands it is really hard to find either of those too. The only think I did find was some home grown bananas, and they made me very sick!
Tattoos are part of the culture, I guess. Nothing makes you look tough like a tattoo.Case in point. Ordinary guy, now with tattoo, Super Tough Guy!
What country is this? America. We were suppose to represent cultures based on traditions and customs. Apparently America is defined by the love we have for cookies. (in a red and white plate, almost as good as our red, white and blue flag!)

Happy Birthday Brother

Happy Birthday Brother!
Ladies, this man is single! He has a house, a hot tub and sometimes a blender shop in the back yard (though it is closed for the season.) He is tough (two guns, come on!), yet fashionable (thus the scarf). He loves crescents rolls (and has been kicked out of the house for saying gratitude for them when they didn't really exist) He bikes a lot in tight spandex and has wrestling parties where he also wears tight spandex. He has short hair, long hair, and is never afraid to have a mullet mohawk! This is pretty much the perfect guy!

Thanksgiving week in review

I had a pretty gosh darn wonderful week at home during the holidays. First I helped my dad lay tile (I don't have pictures because I was too busy working!)
I got to welcome home Sister Mendenhall (my cousin) from the Illinois mission:

Getting the cell phone back makes it official!

There was a sweet buck in the neighbors yard who was courting his lady friends:
On thanksgiving brother felt the need to ride his bike 100 miles to Richmond Utah to work up a Thanksgiving day appetite:

(The only thing that would have been more awesome is if he would have contracted a device to carry a pie on the back!)
The highlight of our day is when I saw a mouse in the garden and the dog chased it for about an hour and we then went around the whole farm looking for hidden treasures and more mice to chase (not to productive)
My mother and 97 year old grandmother

Dad and brother dressing like twins (dad brought his clothes for K-dawg to wear after his ridiculous bike ride)

My cousin really loves to make scarf. And my brother really loves to pick up the dog any time he gets a chance!
We then went on an amazing pheasant hunting trip. The weather was good, the birds were bountiful (because we paid for them to be bountiful!) and the view was beautiful!
Preparing for the hunt. 0:5 clay pigeons were hit and 0:7 birds were hit (by me) and I would like to say this shows I am a very consistent shooter!
I kept ducking every time a bird came out and soon my dad and Lance were yelling "I don't care if you hit anything, we want to see led in the air" Aren't those some good looking birds! (we did have a few that managed to escape to freedom, that is until the wolves come out to eat them in the night) Upon further investigation the picture of the actual pheasants is not shown and I don't know where it went, but you can imagine their feathery beauty!
